
Not all songs begin with a melody or a lyric session—some come uninvited, like a gift in the middle of the night.
That’s how “Add to Your Faith” was born.
I woke up from a dream singing the final chorus of a song I hadn’t yet written:
“That we may be partakers of Christ, sowing seeds of life into the world.”
The words were clear, the melody vivid, and I could still hear the horn line echoing in my mind as I sat up in bed. I knew immediately: I had to capture it.
This phrase was more than just a lyric—it was a message rooted deep in the words of Peter’s letter. That passage has always resonated with me: the way he outlines our growth in God’s Kingdom, step by step, quality by quality. It’s not overwhelming. In fact, it’s deeply practical. It’s as if Peter is saying, “Here’s how to build a faithful life—just take one step at a time.”
That’s the part that speaks to me most. It reminds me that this journey isn’t about “being perfect”; it’s about progressing in maturity. Small, intentional steps. Clear, reachable goals. And the assurance that we’re not doing it alone.
God is with us. One step at a time—we can do this
