Show Your Glory In Me

A Song Born in a Place of Need, Shaped by Scripture, and Offered in Prayer

Not every song starts with a perfect idea or polished melody.
Some are born out of real-life need—unexpected, unscripted, and deeply personal.

“Show Your Glory In Me” began as one of those songs.

I wrote it for a group of young men at a juvenile detention facility where I was working. They were preparing a Christmas program and wanted something with a gospel choir feel—something they could sing together with conviction, rhythm, and hope. We searched for a song that matched that request, but nothing quite fit. So I decided to write one.

What started as a shuffle-driven gospel piece eventually transformed into something much more layered. Over time, I added a bridge, and now I often sing it slowly—as a free-flowing, out-of-tempo prayer. It’s become a personal moment of worship for me, drawing from the same heart that first inspired it, but carrying deeper meaning every time I sing it.

One of my favorite things about this song is how packed it is with Scripture. If you listen closely to the lyrics of “Show Your Glory In Me,” you’ll hear echoes from all over the Bible—phrases, promises, and truths layered throughout. It’s not just a song about God; it’s a song formed by His Word.

I often challenge listeners to see how many Scripture references they can catch—because there are a LOT! Some are obvious. Some are subtle. All of them point to a longing we all share:
To reflect God’s presence. To be transformed by His Spirit. To show His Glory—around us, and within us.

“Show Your Glory In Me” started as a simple answer to a need. But it’s become one of my most personal declarations. A prayer. A hope. A Scripture-soaked anthem for anyone who wants to live a life shaped by God’s presence.

I pray it encourages you as much as it has encouraged me.
